July 19-20 - Both the 10u and 12u TABU Teams invaded Manteca for the USTBA "Go Deep" Tournament July 19-20. Both teams elected to play up in age to challenge themselves with the last tournament of the Spring/Summer Season. Results From the April 12-13 USSSA 12u Tournament in Fremont, CA
TABU won 3 pool play games on Saturday 4/12 (Atwater Thunder 10-1, SV Mustanges 13-5 and Delta Dawgs 6-1) before being seeded #1 for Championship Play on Sunday.
On Sunday, TABU faced off against the Delta Dawgs for the 2nd time in as many games. This time, the Dawgs would go down "swinging" and battled TABU to a 4-4 tie through 5 1/2 innings. In the bottom of the 6th Inning, TABU led off with a triple and a sac fly would secure the victory. In the Championship, TABU would face-off against the Danville Renegades who had just beat the Folsom Flames 15-2. The Renegades would have the momentum and their ace pitcher on the mound to face off against TABU. Both teams played well and with a tie game in the top of the 6th inning, the Renegades would hit a towering pop-up in the infield that was lost in the sun. The ball fell helpless and allowed the Renegades to take the lead 3-2. TABU would have the "hammer" but couldn't manufacture a run in the bottom of the 6th and lost 3-2. This was a good game in VERY HOT weather. TABU still holds a 2-1 victory edge against the Renegades but when these 2 teams step on the field you know it will come down to the wire.
